YOUNGSTOWN, OH - The Alfred University men's track & field team traveled to Youngstown University to compete in the YSU Mid Major Invitational on Friday evening.

On the track in individual events, Zach Schultz (Middleport, NY/Royalton-Hartland) put up a time of 1:09.58 in the 500-meter dash to finish 12th.

Alfred University placed ninth in the distance medley relay, finishing with a time of 10:41.08 by Jacob Taylor (Cohocton, NY/Avoca), Seth Stevens (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), Riley Ciamarra (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) and Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West).

In the field, Alfred University's Daimel Fowler (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) threw for a personal best with a mark of 12.63 (41'-05.25") in the weight throw. Then, David Winchenbach (Jefferson, ME/Lincoln Academy) placed 27th in the long jump with a 5.89m (19-4") launch.

The Saxons will next close out their weekend in Youngstown, starting bright and early on Saturday morning, starting at 9:30am.
