GENESEO, NY – The Alfred University women's swimming & diving team fell to SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday evening in an Empire 8 dual-meet, 224-71.
Elizabeth Share (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) led the way with three individual victories while also posting the top backstroke split in the 200-yard medley relay, swimming the opening leg with a time of 28.42. In individual events, Share won both backstroke events, clocking a 1:00.73 in the 100 and a 2:12.22 in the 200. She ended her evening with an exciting finish in the 200-yard individual medley, reaching the wall with a time of 2:19.33, clinching the win by less than a second.
Isobel Anderegg (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) had the Saxons' lone second place finishes in a down-to-the-wire finish in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard version. She reached the wall ahead of the Geneseo third place finisher by 0.04 seconds, marking a final time of 1:13.92. Anderegg then clocked a 2:42.86 ahead of Geneseo's this place finisher time of 2:42.95.
The Saxons will next travel to Hartwick College on Saturday, January 17 for a 1:00pm start.
