BEREA, OH – The Alfred University men's track and field team traveled west to Baldwin Wallace University for the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet on Friday.
Neil Peters (The Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton) registered 16th in the long jump on a 5.92m mark (19'-5.25").
Khamani Hunter Sr (Poughkeepsie, NY/FDR) and Riley Ciamarra (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Penas) placed fourth in their heats during the 200-meter dash. Hunter finished 19
th overall with a time of 22.62. Ciamarra crossed the finish line in 28
th at 23.03.
Three Saxons competed in the 800-meter run. Jacob Taylor (Cohocton, NY/Avoca) shaved off .12 seconds to earn a personal best time of 2:02.38. He finished sixth in his heat and 61
st overall. Behind him in the event were teammates
Yuner Sesmas (Apollo, PA/Kiski Area) and Jayden Noel (Brooklyn, NY/Automotive). Sesmas trimmed his previous time by .49 seconds for a personal best of 2:10.39. He notched fifth in his heat and 75
th overall. Noel ran in the 800-meter run for the first time in his career, finishing behind Sesmas with sixth in his heat and 76
th overall at 2:11.67.
"Today was a great day with some stellar competition," Head Coach
Matt Phillips '10 said. "The guys have been working on some final technical aspects as we get ready for our regional competition. They executed in their races and events, so we are excited for next week's competition."
Alfred University travels to St. John Fisher University for the Cardinal Last Chance Meet on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
