GENEVA, OH – The Alfred University men's track & field team competed at the Spire Academy Collegiate Indoor Games on Saturday.
"The team did a great job managing a long travel day and a demanding work week," graduate assistant coach
Kevin Flint said. "They competed hard against high caliber competition and that effort was reflected in the results. With Empire 8's approaching, it is encouraging to see the team headed in the right direction."
Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) appeared in the 400-meter dash for the second time in his career. He won his heat and placed 12th overall on a personal best time of 50.98.
Jason Crocker (Oreland, PA/Springfield Township) threw for 14.03m (46'-0.5") to earn 13th in the shot put.
Khamani Hunter Sr (Poughkeepsie, NY/FDR) competed in the prelims of the 60-meter dash. He registered second in his heat and 15th overall at 7.21, which was five spots short of qualifying for the finals.
The Saxons return to Houghton University to compete in the Last Chance Conference Qualifier on Saturday, February 22 at 10 AM.
