GREENWOOD, IN -- Three members of the Alfred University men's soccer team were honored on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
The three honorees include senior
Rodrigo Perez (Pelencia, Spain/IES Victorio Macho), junior
Jesus De La Torre (Malaga, Spain/The Woodstock Academy), and sophomore
Niko Lampros (Lake Oswego, OR/Lakeridge).
"I couldn't be more excited for these guys to get recognized," Head Coach
Garret Eldridge said. "They have showed great dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom. It also shows our commitment as a program to excel in all facets of what we do."
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
To qualify, a student-athlete needs to have a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
