ALFRED, NY -- Two members of the men's soccer program earned All-Empire 8 honors for their Fall 2025 season. Those two members are sophomore Hamza Kromah (Marigbi, Liberia/Western Reserve Academy) and junior Xavier Bowman (Hampstead, MD/Manchester Valley).
"I'm very excited that both Hamza and Xavier have received All-Conference recognition," Head Coach Garret Eldridge said. "All of our awards are truly team awards, because without the strength of our group, no individual rewards would be possible. That said, both Hamza and Xavier really set themselves apart this year through their goal contributions and consistent performances."
Kromah earned first-team honors in his first season as a Saxon, playing in and starting all 17 games for a team-high 1,489 minutes played. He led the team with 52 shots, 18 of them on target. He and Bowman tied as the leading goal-scorer on the year with four.Â
Meanwhile, Bowman made the All-Empire 8 third team for the third straight season. He led AU in overall scoring with his four goals and three assists for 11 points in 14 games played. Six of those points came in the first two matches. The captain of the Saxons squad also notched 18 shots on net in 37 attempts, setting a new career high in said category.
Kromah was also designated as Alfred University's representative for the Tomorrow's Leader's Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.Â
"This year was a great step forward for both of them," Eldridge said. "I cannot wait to see how hard they work this offseason and could not be more excited to coach this entire group. We have a very bright future."
