HOUGHTON, NY – The Alfred University men's track & field team returned to Houghton University to compete at the Highlander Invitational on Saturday.
"We're getting further into the indoor season and it's exciting to see that the team's hard work and training is paying off," Graduate Assistant Coach
Emma Anderson said. "We had some exciting performances and a lot of our athletes gave it their absolute all out on the track and in the field."
The big highlight of the meet for the men was the second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of
Jayden Noel (Brooklyn, NY/Automotive),
Riley Ciamarra (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas),
Finnegan Dean (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam Central) and
Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) earned the silver on a time of 3:38.40.
Jason Crocker (Oreland, PA/Springfield Township) added another second-place finish for the Saxons in the shot put on a 13.98m (45'-10.5") performance.
Dean claimed eighth in the mile run with a time of 4:46.65. He also earned a personal best time of 2:07.11 to finish 11
th in the 800 meter-run.
Khamani Hunter Sr (Poughkeepsie, NY/FDR) registered a time of 23.36 for 15
th place in the 200 meter-dash.
Alfred University will have a week off from competition before heading to SUNY Brockport for the Brockport Multi on February 7-8.
