Box Score Fredonia, NY -- Alfred University's Men's Soccer concluded the weekend in the Blue Devil Classic by falling to the hosts, Fredonia University, by the final score of 2-1.
"Fredonia is always a good game," Head Coach
Tracy Blake said. "We had several players play up to their standards."
Justin Eaton (Williamson, NY/Williamson) opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a delightful header. He found space in the box to put it into the top right corner and finished off
Noam Sokolovsky's (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) cross from the left wing. Eaton finished the game with four shots.
Tyler Mulholland (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) faced eight shots in another busy outing for the netminder in the loss.
For the second straight day, weather interrupted the game and swung momentum in favor of the Blue Devils. Just seconds after the 40-minute delay, they would find an equalizer and the eventual game-winner five minutes later.
"Great display by the team," Blake said. "Yesterday we got what we deserved, and today we didn't."
After starting the first five games on the road, the Saxons finally get to play at Yunevich Stadium for their home opener this Wednesday, September 11. Kickoff is at 4:00 pm.
