GRANTHAM, PA – The Alfred University men's track & field team competed at Messiah University on Saturday, finishing 16
th out of the 17 teams that scored points.
The event that produced the most points for the Saxons was the 4x800-meter relay.
Kevin Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford), Jacob Taylor (Cohocton, NY/Avoca), Finnegan Dean (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam Central) and
Nick Erickson (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) combined for a time of 8:46.52 that claimed five points. Dean tacked on two points with his 10:35.41 time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing seventh.
Jason Crocker (Oreland, PA/Springfield Township) scored three points with his sixth-place finish in the shot put, throwing 13.11m (43'-0.25") while
Carter Buckman (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) cleared 3.12m (10'-2.75") in the pole vault for one point at eighth place.
The Saxons will next take the shortest trip of the season, across the street and up the hill to Alfred State College on Friday, April 19 at 4:00pm.
