GREENWOOD, IN - Six members of the Alfred University women's soccer team were selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.
Kiani Barnard-Pratt (Westford, MA/Westford Academy),
Julia Flaitz (Arkport, NY/Arkport),
Sidney Khuns (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport),
Madison Lee (Dansville, NY/Dansville),
Alyssa Smith (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) and
Claire Squicciarini (Albion, NY/Charles D'Amico) all earned recognition for the Saxons.
"This is a great accomplishment for the six members of the team who were recognized by CSCA for the academic award," Head Coach
Craig Yanni said. "This really shows the amount of work that is put in not only on the field, but in the classroom. We are very proud of the work they have put in to exemplify what being a student-athlete really means."
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
To qualify, a student-athlete needs to have a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
