ALFRED, NY -- The Alfred University hunt seat equestrian team was named the Reserve High Point Team on Saturday afternoon from the Bromeley-Daggett Equestrian Center at Maris Cuneo Equine Park.
The Saxons were led by
Maggie Childs (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) as the High Point Rider on Saturday. She claimed two blue ribbon finishes at the home show, taking first in Intermediate Flat and Intermediate Fences. In Fences, she was closely followed by
Lailah Pollack (Brooklyn, NY/Repertory Company High School for Theater Arts) in second place.
Ella Thompson (Vancouver, WA/Virtual Learning Academy) finished first place as well on the day, claiming the blue ribbon in Open Fences after following Childs in Flat, finishing fifth place.
Keira Hanschman (Chicago, IL/Cary-Grove Community) took first in Limit Fences, followed by
Ally Dann (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) in sixth place. Dann went on to take second in Limit Flat while Pollack finished fourth in the discipline.
Caitlin Jonas (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) earned second place in Novice Flat and was followed by
Jasmine Rider (Olivebridge, NY/Onteora) and
Keira Sims (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Izzy Rabiner (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) took third place in Introductory.
Ani Sydorowych (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) earned fifth place in Open Flat while
Megan Wilson (Youngstown, OH/Ursuline) rounded out the placings with a sixth place finish in Pre-Novice Flat.
The Saxons will next compete in a two-day show at Nazareth University on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17.
