ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Oscar Wolter (Munich, Germany/Lycee Jean Renoir) was named the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after an official announcement by Association Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Wolter finished with a pair of outstanding performances, as the Saxons picked up Empire 8 wins over Hartwick College and Russell Sage College. Against Hartwick, Wolter finished the game with a double-double performance that consisted of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Wolter shot 5-of-11 from the field against the Hawks and was credited with one assist. Against Russell Sage, Wolter put up a career-high 20 points and 18 rebounds for the Saxons. He shot 8-of-13 from the field and recorded five assists. On the defensive end, Wolter earned one steal for AU.
 
Wolter was joined in the Empire 8 listings by Wade LaMastus (Maumee, OH/Anthony Wayne), who was an E8 Men's Swimming & Diving Co-Athlete of the Week. He was also named a Saxon of the Week along with women's swimming & diving's Mia Spencer (Omaha, NE/Omaha Central).
