ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Neil Peters (The Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) has earned his fourth Empire 8 Weekly Honor during his final season as a Saxon, having been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Peters qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.29 to be seeded seventh going into the finals. He ended in fifth place with a career-best time of 7.11 which is also the top time in the Empire 8 this season. Peters was 0.09 seconds away from tying the school record of 7.02 seconds, set in 2013 by Andre McCloud '14.
 
Peters also ran in the 200-meter dash and finished 22^nd with a time of 23.54.
 
Peters was joined on Monday by Brewster Marshall (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) as the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
