ROCHESTER, NY – The All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Indoor Championships concluded on Saturday evening, hosted by Nazareth College, as the lone Saxon competitor battled for a scoring position in her one event.
Madison Palmer (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) finished 10
th in the weight throw, just missing finals by one position and a team-scoring position by two spots. She threw a distance of 14.82m (48'-7.5"). She was just short of her own school record throw of 14.85m (48'-8.6").
"Madison had a great second day of competition," Head Coach
Dr. Angie Taylor said. "She came into the championships ranked 17
th in the weight throw. Then, she just missed the finals by less than three inches! I am proud of Madison and I am looking forward to her having an awesome outdoor season."
Palmer's first throw of the meet was her top mark as she hit the 14.82m distance. At the end of the first round of competition, the throw was the third best toss, heading into the second round.
Palmer and the rest of the Saxons will next open their 2022 outdoor schedule with a meet at SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, April 2.
