UTICA, NY – The Alfred University women's track & field team completed day one of the Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday evening in fifth place out of the seven teams competing at Utica University.
The top finish for the Saxons was

"We're proud with the showing of our women today and we are excited to get back to the meet tomorrow," Head Coach

The distance medley relay team of
Olivia Gilbert (Ontario, NY/Wayne), Olivia Chamberlin (Holland, NY/Holland), Sarah Lutkins (Union Springs, NY/Union Springs) and
McKenzie Hall (Hornell, NY/Hornell) edged out Utica's team by just over a second to take fourth place with a time of 14:08.85.
