ALFRED, NY – After helping the Alfred University football team to a Senior Day win over Utica,
Joe Copp (Minoa, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) was one of two Empire 8 Co-Defensive Players of the Week, as made official in an announcement by Associate Commissioner,
Joe Venniro on Monday afternoon.
Copp led a Saxon defense that held Utica College to only 17 yards of rushing as he had a game-high eight tackles with seven of them being solo efforts. Copp had 2.5 tackles for a loss of 19 yards, including a 13-yard loss on a sack. He also blocked a punt in the second quarter.
Copp and the Saxons will next close out their regular season with a road trip to SUNY Brockport on Saturday, October 13 at noon.
