ALFRED, NY -- The Alfred University men's basketball team has been recognized four times by the Empire 8 and all four have been with Rookie of the Week honors while three of those have been because of Brewster Marshall (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) as he picked up his third recognition on Monday afternoon.

Marshall and Elliot Bowen (Salamanca, NY/Ellicotville) are the men's basketball representatives to be selected by the Empire 8 in its weekly awards.

First-year Marshall upped his collegiate career-high scoring to 23 points when he went 10-of-14 from the floor against Nazareth College for an average of .714. He was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line on the week. Marshall added 13 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals on the week as well.

Marshall and the Saxons will next host Houghton College in Empire 8 action on Saturday, January 26 at 4PM in the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena.
