ALFRED, NY -- First-year Elliot Bowen (Salamanca, NY/Ellicotville) earned his first Empire 8 Rookie of the Week honors as he had an incredible start to his Saxon career.

Bowen averaged 12.3 points per game in a three-game, season-opening week where he scored a high of 20 points against D'Youville on Monday. He then scored 13 against Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo) on Saturday and added four points against Bryant & Stratton (Rochester) on Friday. Bowen's game against D'Youville also saw his first collegiate double-double with 13 rebounds. He totaled two blocks, one steal and one assist on the week as well while going 9-for-11 from the free throw line and 14-for-22 from the floor.
