ALFRED, NY -- The Alfred University men's outdoor track and field team was honored yet again with another Empire 8 weekly award as Kevin Dixon (Rotterdam, NY/Mohonasen) was named the Track Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Dixon won the 3,000-meter run with a personal best time of 9:00.12. Not only was the time a personal record by 45.54 seconds, but he also beat all other competitors by 1:19.28 or more which included four athletes from Wilkes University and one from Division II Bloomsburg University and set the school in the event as he is the first Saxon to run the race.

Dixon and the Saxons will next compete at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Friday, May 5 at St. John Fisher College.
