Box Score ITHACA, NY—Junior Eric Adams (Lebanon, NJ/Hunterdon Central) set a career-high with 21 points and tied his career-best with 15 rebounds in a 91-79 loss to Ithaca on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
Adams' previously set a career-high in points against Hilbert College on 11/28/15 with 18 points in 30 minutes on 9-of-10 shooting. He eclipsed that mark with 10-of-14 (71.4%) shooting. Adams also previously set a career-high in rebounds (15) against Ithaca College during the 2014-2015 season (1/23/15). 
 
Junior Julian Reinhart (Hornell, NY/Hornell) continued on his tear in the Empire 8 with 17 points, extending his streak to five games with 10 or more points. Reinhart also wrangled in eight rebounds for the Saxons.
 
Both the Bombers and the Saxons shot well out of the gate, making 46.4% and 41.0% of their shots, respectively.  Ithaca carried a 45-40 lead into the locker room at halftime.
 
The Saxons were outshot again in the second half with the Bombers out-pacing them 52.9% to 40.0% from the field, despite the AU defense holding Ithaca to only 2-of-9 shooting from behind the arc.
 
In the final minutes of the matchup, the Saxons whittled away at the Bombers' lead to come within five points. However, with little time to spare AU was forced to foul, and Ithaca capitalized down the stretch to a 91-79 victory.
 
The Bombers were led by Sam Bevan with 28 points while Peter Ezema scored 11 points and led Ithaca with 10 rebounds.
 
Freshman Sage Brown (Cortland, NY/Cortland) amassed 12 points for the Saxons, a career-high for the young forward.
 
AU (9-14, E8 5-9) has a break until next Thursday when it travels to Houghton to take on the Highlanders at 6PM.
