ALFRED, NY – Sean Locker (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post West), a junior on the Alfred University men's outdoor track and field team, has earned weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference.
 
Locker was named Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Week. He was honored for his performance at the Brockport State Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday, when he won the javelin competition with a throw of 55.96 meters.
 
Locker's win Saturday comes on the heels of his victory in the javelin at the Empire 8 Conference championships April 19, when he broke the AU school record with a throw of 59.77 meters.
 
The AU men's and women's teams are in action next at the New York State outdoor track and field championships, Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, at St. John Fisher College.
