Box Score ALFRED, NY –The Alfred University women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-5 decision to visiting Elmira College, Friday evening.
                
Alfred (1-9, 0-5 Empire 8) trailed 7-3 and halftime, and was outscored 9-2 in the second half.
                
Junior attack Kaitlyn Button (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) paced the Lady Saxons with four goals and senior defender Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) netted a goal also.
                
Freshman midfielder Mary Baughman (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) picked up three groundballs and freshman defender Hayley Hammer (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) caused three turnovers for AU.  
                
Junior goalie Taylor Tarajos (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) went the distance in net for Alfred and made five saves.
                
AU returns to action against Nazareth College on Wednesday, April 23, at 7 p.m.
