ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team continued Empire 8 action with an 18-1 loss to SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday afternoon from Yunevich Stadium.
Sydney Angelo (Windsor, NY/Windsor Central) led Alfred University with a goal to go with a team-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Molly Howlett (Brockport, NY/Brockport) registered six saves for Alfred University along with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
Angelo and
Paige Stansfield (Painted Post, NY/Corning-Painted Post) were each credited with a caused turnover in the opening quarter. The Knights got off to a quick start in the first half, scoring 13 unanswered goals before the break. After adding three goals in the third quarter, Angelo recorded her 22nd goal of the spring season in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. With the goal, Angelo has now scored in each of her last five games for Alfred University. Geneseo added a pair of goals to close out the game and come away with the win.
Alfred University will next conclude their 2026 regular season at SUNY Poly on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
