Box Score ELMIRA, NY-  The Alfred University men's basketball team suffered an 80-67 loss to Elmira College, Tuesday evening on the road. This loss splits the two teams for the series this season.
           
Elmira started the game off on a 19-0 run, holding Alfred scoreless until just under 14 minutes. This helped the Soaring Eagles to a commanding 37-26 lead at halftime.
           
The Saxons were unable to decrease the deficit below 11 points during the second half of play, giving Elmira the eventual victory.
           
Freshman guard Julian Reinhart (Hornell, NY/Hornell) scored a team-high nine points for AU and senior guard Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris) added eight points. Senior forward Steve Lothridge (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa (OCC)) pulled down six rebounds, and junior guard Tim Pacheco (Mt. Pocono, PA/Pocono Mountain East) dished out four assists.
           
Alfred (14-5, 5-3 Empire 8) returns home against Stevens Tech on Friday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m.
