ALFRED, NY — Jeffrey Nunez (Wurtsboro, NY/Ellenville), a sophomore on the Alfred University men's indoor track and field team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week.
                
Nunez was honored for his performance at Saturday's 2014-15 season-opening College at Brockport Invitational. He won the weight throw with a school record-setting toss of 15.45 meters. The throw broke a 19-year-old Alfred University
