ALFRED, NY-- Sophomore quarterback Tyler Johnson (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) has been named the Alfred University male athlete of the week following the Saxon's win vs. Husson University in the season opener.

Johnson picked up where he left off from the 2013 season by leading the Saxon's offense throwing for 297 yards and completing 75% of his passes with five touchdown passes leaving him only one touchdown short of tying the school single game passing touchdown record. Johnson also rushed 12 times for 69 yards.

AU (1-0, Empire 8 0-0) is in action again at RPI September 13th at 12pm.
