ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Athletics Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Jake Fisler will resign from his position, as announced on Wednesday. He will join RIT Athletics as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach prior to the 2026-27 season. 

"It has been an absolute honor and privilege to coach these programs for the past two years," Fisler said. "I am so thankful for my time at Alfred University because of the opportunity to get to know these student-athletes. This is a great group who is destined for big things, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them. I am excited to be a fan of AU tennis and follow along with all of their successes to come." 

Fisler joined Alfred University Athletics in August 2024 following his time as Assistant Junior Director at Midtown Athletic Club. In just two seasons with the Saxons, he led both the men's and women's tennis programs back to the Empire 8 Championship Tournament. The men's program highlighted his tenure with a historic 2025–26 season, advancing to the Empire 8 Championship Finals.

Under Fisler's leadership, 16 Saxons were selected as Empire 8 All-Conference honorees, including one Rookie of the Year recipient. During the 2025–26 season, both programs set multiple records for program victories and individual wins.

The program also excelled academically under Fisler's guidance, with the Saxons earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors on 12 occasions.

Fisler concludes his time at Alfred University with 17 victories on the women's side and adding 15 wins on the men's side.

Alfred University will begin a national search to find the next head coach of the men's and women's tennis program.
