ALFRED, NY – Alfred University softball pitcher Ava Galvan (Santa Fe Springs, CA/Santa Fe) earned the first ever E8 weekly honors of her career on Monday.

The first-year was selected Co-Pitcher of the Week after picking up her first collegiate pitching win, defeating the defending PAC Champions, Westminster University (PA) on Sunday in the Saxons' season-opener. Galvan pitched all 7.0 innings in the 5-2 win in Florida. During which she only gave up one earned run and struck out four batters. 

Galvan shares E8 Co-Pitcher of the Week with Hannah Burdick of Elmira College.  

The Saxons continue their spring break trip, with their next game against North Park University on Tuesday. The first pitch is set to take place at 9:00 AM.
