ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Gillian Dickerson (Frisco, TX/Wakeland) was named the Empire 8 Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Monday for the third week in a row.

Dickerson recorded a grand total of 89 set assists in three Empire 8 matches, averaging 10 assists per set in a three-set home victory over Keuka College and averaging just shy of 30 set assists per match. She tacked on 14.5 points on the week from eight aces, three kills, five block assists and one solo block. Dickerson added 21 digs as a setter, recording eight in both of the victories over the weekend.

It is the first time in school history that a women's volleyball player has earned Empire 8 Rookie of the Week three times in a row and only the second time a Saxon has won it three times in a season. Dickerson ties teammate, Cara Bratthauar (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg Area) who earned the accolade three times in the 2023 Empire 8 Championship season.

Dickerson was joined in the Empire 8 Weekly Honors by Landon Berry (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) as one of the Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week honorees and Elizabeth Share (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) as the Women's Swimmer of the Week.
