ROCHESTER, NY – The third Alfred Cup event is set for Saturday, September 20 at 10:00am as the Saxon men's cross country team will get the first race of the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational with the women's team starting at 11:00am.
 
Alfred State won the first Alfred Cup event with a 2-1 in men's soccer, earning two points towards the overall scoreboard while Alfred University women's soccer earned two points with a 3-0 shutout over the Pioneers. Each win earns two points and ties earn one point for each school.
 
The Alfred Cup competitions offer more than good fun rivalries, they're a powerful opportunity to unite the Alfred, NY community and to make a meaningful impact. Both athletic departments will lead community involvement and civic engagement initiatives at each Alfred Cup home event through the launching of the Community Outreach Program.
