Marchak Joins Saxon Athletics as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Athletics announced the hiring of James Marchak as its new Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the upcoming 2025-26 athletic year.
 
"I am excited to bring James on to our staff here at AU," Head Athletic Trainer and NCAA Athletics Healthcare Administrator Ronald Demchack said. "He brings some great knowledge and insight from working at the Division I level. His energy and passion will help lead our strength program and our athletic teams to the next level."
 
Marchak joins AU from Appalachian State University, where he was the Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant for two years. He worked with baseball, cheer, golf and track & field.
 
Marchak spent the 2022-23 season at Syracuse University. His primary sports were women's lacrosse and men's soccer. Marchak was a part of the women's lacrosse team's run to the Final Four during the spring.
 
In addition to his duties with the Orange, he also served as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for Edge Strength & Conditioning in Syracuse. Marchak worked with athletes and clients on strength & conditioning programs that aligned with their personal goals.
 
"I am incredibly excited to join the Alfred University community and have the opportunity to support our student-athletes both on and off the field," Marchak said. "My goal is to build a culture of strength, resilience and accountability that empowers every athlete to reach their full potential."
 
A native of Syracuse, NY, Marchak holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Utica University and a Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University.
