ALFRED, NY - The Alfred University softball team will travel to Christopher Newport University to face #23 Randolph-Macon for the beginning of the 2025 NCAA Tournament in a regional hosted by Christopher Newport. 

The Saxons (32-9, 18-4 Empire 8) will be the No. 3 seed and will compete against No. 2 Randolph-Macon on Thursday, May 15 at 1:30 pm, on the first day of the double-elimination regional. Prior to the first game for AU, No. 1 Christopher Newport will play No. 4 Farmingdale State at 11:00 am. 

Alfred University and Randolph-Macon have never competed against each other in program history. This marks the third time the Saxons will be competing in the NCAA Tournament under Head Coach Luke Wesneski, following regional appearances in 2021 and 2022. The winner of the regional will advance to the 16-team Super Regional round next week. The final eight standing will then travel to Bloomington, Illinois, for the national finals May 29 - June 4.

Tickets for this weekend will be single day tickets with Adults $10.00, and Students/Senior tickets at $5.00 and will be cash only. Tickets will go on sale one hour prior to the first game each day.
