LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO – The Alfred University dressage equestrian team sent its first rider to the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) National Championships at the National Equestrian Center in school history on Thursday, sending Chester Mikkelson (Arlington, MA/Arlington) to finish fourth in the nation.
 
Mikkelson earned a composite score of 64.8% during their test on the horse, Waldo, competing in Individual Upper Training. "It was a well-ridden test," Head Coach Teresa Oliver said. "I felt it demonstrated the skill of the rider. Great job!"
 
Mikkelson and the Alfred University dressage equestrian team's season comes to a close on the high note. The Saxons will next look to improve upon this season during the 2025-26 season, starting in the fall semester, next academic year.
