OSWEGO, NY -- The Alfred University men's tennis team played its second match in two days this time against Oswego State.
"No one will look at this match or season and think its the greatest season of all time. But what people will remember about matches like this are freshman
Thomas Hamilton (Farmville, NY/Prince Edward County) and sophomore
Jeffery Merejo (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) winning in a tiebreak, using anything but the strings to win a crucial point," Head Coach
Jake Fisler said. "This team supported one another from start to finish and they are in the process of building a winning team culture for years to come. They have truly bought into the process and the results are only a matter of time.
Ricardo Alvarez Janik (La Orotava, Spain/Colegio Casa Azul) won three points in his doubles match with
Breece Erickson (Goshen, IN/Bethany Christian). Janik took four in his singles match while Erickson had three in their competitive loss.
Bill Tran (Hanoi, Vietnam/Grace Christian) also took four points in his singles match loss. He also competed with
Matthew Bittel (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) in the doubles match. Bittel competed tough in defeat as well.
