ELMIRA, NY – The Alfred University women's basketball team dropped its road contest to Elmira College by a score of 71-65 on Saturday.
Three Saxons registered double figures in scoring.

"Things that helped us get the win yesterday hurt us big time today," head coach

Chest contributed two baskets to keep the score within one before the Eagles made a last second bucket to take a 31-28 lead into the locker room. The Saxons were outscored, 20-13, in the second quarter.
Alfred University was held to just three points in the early stages of the third while Elmira College registered its next nine to build its advantage, 40-31.

Down by eight with 6:07 left in the game, Alfred University combined for six points to get within two. Beehler contributed a bucket at 3:17 to keep the Saxons' chances alive for a comeback, but the Eagles pulled away with a 13-7 run to take the victory.
