ITHACA, NY – The Alfred University women's swimming & diving team ended its stay at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on Saturday evening, finishing seventh.
Courtney Cherricks (Chincoteague, VA/Big Spring) and
Mariam Kiragu (Gaborone, Botswana/Legae Academy) got things started by taking 21st and 22nd in the 200-yard backstroke. Cherricks swam a 2:22.48 and Kiragu clocked a 2:24.99.
Kyra Harry (Gaborone, Botswana/Enko Botho) swam a 56.09 in the 100-yard freestyle to take 21st after the 200-back.
Liv Richeda (Endwell,NY/Maine-Endwell) and
Isobel Anderegg (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) had the top individual finishes on Saturday as both qualified for the A-Finals in the 200-yard breaststroke. Richeda finished with a time of 2:36.49 to finish sixth overall while Anderegg took eighth with a time of 2:37.46.
The 400-free relay team of Anderegg,
Lauren Mott (Cortland, NY/Cortland), Cherricks and Harry ended the weekend with a seventh place finishing time of 3:55.15.
The Saxons will next turn their sights toward 2026 with a road Empire 8 dual meet at Nazareth University on Friday, January 9 at noon.
