ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University dressage equestrian team hosted its first ever Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) sanctioned event on Saturday, October 4 as part of Homecoming/Family Weekend.
The Saxons finished fourth out of the five teams that competed. Delaware Valley University finished first overall, followed by Penn State University, Centenary University, Alfred University and Rutgers University.
Both
Lily Coats (New Boston, NH/Goffstown),
Samantha Smit (Columbiana, OH/Ursuline) and
Piper Anderson (Cleveland, OH/Orange) earned third place finishes. Anderson competed in Upper Training while Smit was in Lower Training and Coats showed in Introductory.
Maggie Childs (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) took fourth in First Level while
Keira Sims (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) rounded out Top-5 finishers behind Smit in Lower Training.
