TYRONE, PA – The Alfred University dressage equestrian team finished in fourth place at The Grier School in a show hosted by Penn State University on Saturday.
 
Samantha Smit (Columbiana, OH/Ursuline) led the way with the top finish, scoring 67.692 in Lower Training to place third. Ellis Trendell (Seekonk, MA/School One) took fifth in First Level with a score of 65.925 and Lily Coats (New Boston, NH/Goffstown) scored 63.438 in Intro to finish sixth.
 
Grace Bellis (Shortsville, NY/Red Jacket) placed fifth in individual rides, showing in Intro. Ryann McEllroy (Roscoe, NY/Sullivan West) showed in Upper Level but finished seventh, not earning a ribbon.
 
The Saxons will travel to Centenary University (New Jersey) for a show on Saturday, October 18.
