Box Score WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Alfred University men's tennis team was back into action at the Wilkes University Doubles Tournament on Sunday, racking up an impressive 10 victories.

Matthew Bittel (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) and
André López Jiménez (Mexico City, Mexico/PrepaTec Esmeralda) led the Saxons with a fiery 5-1 record. The pair won the first two by scores of 6-3, 6-0, before dropping the next match, 6-0, to Moravian University's Roman Farhad and Gavin Labbadia. Bittel and Jimenez rounded out the day with three-straight victories (6-2, 6-0, 6-2).
Bill Tran (Hanoi, Vietnam/Grace Christian) and
Josh Erickson (Falconer, NY/Falconer) registered three wins in. The pair lost the first match before winning back-to-back, 6-4 and 6-0. Tran and Erickson found themselves in three tiebreaking matches but eventually came out victorious against Misericordia University's Noah Ceklosky and Brett Bastian by a score of 6-5 (7-3).
Breece Erickson (Goshen, IN/Bethany Christian) and
Anlun Zwerver (Koog Aan De Zaan, The Netherlands/Blaise Pascal College) added two wins on the day for the Saxons. The pair earned a 6-0 victory against King's College's Amir Samadian and Gavin Hall. They later defeated Misericordia University's Dalton Alexander and Derek Burcik, 6-1.
AU will host its lone match of the fall season against Thiel College on Friday at 3:00 PM.
