HOUGHTON, NY – The Alfred University women's cross country team finished 16^th at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday morning.
 
The Saxons were led by Sydney Ribble (Addison, NY/Addison) who scored 64 points in 78^th place with a time of 25:11.0. Alivia Kocan (Hornell, NY/Arkport Central) was the second runner to cross with a time of 26:55.4. Nyah Allen (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen), Rain Newton (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) and Morgan Brinkmann (Manchester, MO/Parkway South) were all first-year runners to round out the top-five finishers for AU, crossing the finish line with times of 27:12.4, 27:43.0 and 28:15.9, respectively.
 
The Saxons will next travel to Gettysburg College for a race on Saturday, October 18, just ahead of the Empire 8 Championships hosted by St. John Fisher University on November 1.
