FREDONIA, NY -- The Alfred University's men's soccer team fell in the opening of the Blue Devil Classic, 7-1 against Buffalo State Friday afternoon.

"Poor showing today from the team," Head Coach Tracy Blake said. "We've got to do better tomorrow against Fredonia."

A hat trick from Buffalo State's Manu Prieto led the way in an offensive showing for the Bengals. The Saxons had one shot on goal, which did find the back of the net. It came in the 87th minute from Xavier Bowman (Hampstead, MD/Manchester Valley) on a penalty kick. His first goal of the season went up the middle which sent goalkeeper Shae Wirt the wrong way. 

The team will be back in action right away on Saturday afternoon against the hosts of the tournament, Fredonia State at 3:00pm.
