ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University football program will host a Youth Football Day on November 2 at 1:00 PM when the Saxons take on St. John Fisher University. Every youth football player that wears their uniform, along with one chaperon or adult per player, will receive free admission to the game.
 
"We are very excited to get the opportunity to host youth football players from the surrounding areas here in the southern tier," Head Coach Bob Rankl said. "I am hoping that they will enjoy the game day atmosphere at Alfred University. "Hopefully, this will continue to grow the sport of football locally. Maybe someday these will be future Saxons playing for us on Merrill Field!"
 
Each youth football player in attendance will receive a concession stand voucher for a popcorn and beverage for the game when they enter. Teams that register through the end of October will be introduced at midfield during halftime of the game. As part of the event, the Alfred University men's lacrosse and softball teams are teaming up to organize a charity drive to collect stuffed animals to be donated to the Wellsville Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program. Fans who bring in one stuffed animal will get one free ticket into the game (children five years of age and below are free either way). At halftime, the public address announcer will make an announcement for everyone to get ready with their stuffed animals to toss into The Pit where they will be collected by members of the Alfred University men's lacrosse and softball teams.

Following the game, youth football teams are invited to return to the field and receive autographs and have their picture taken with select members of the Alfred University football program.
