Welcome Back! AU Introduces Nick Milgate as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Athletics welcomes back Nick Milgate as the new Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator prior to the 2024-25 season.
 
"We are very excited to welcome Nick back to Alfred University," Head Athletic Director and Athletics Title IX Deputy Coordinator, Ronald Demchak said. "Nick's passion for strength and conditioning came during his time as a leader on and off the field for our football team. His knowledge paired with his energy and passion for AU will help push our student-athletes to the next level."
 
Most recently, Milgate worked as the Strength & Conditioning Coach at HD Performance LLC beginning in July of 2023. Milgate was responsible for supervising and communicating with various clients within the athletic performance facility. Milgate additionally served as an Athletic Performance Intern with the University of Rochester Medical Center. While with URMC, Milgate manufactured programs for clients and gained experience with the athletic performance training department.
 
"I'm excited to be back at Alfred University and help our student-athletes reach their peak performance in their respective sports," Milgate said. "I'm looking forward to seeing and working with familiar faces when I was a student-athlete here!"
 
Milgate was a star member of the Alfred University football team, joining the team in the Fall 2016 semester. With the Saxons, Milgate was honored as a D3Football.com All-American and All-Empire 8 talent. He currently sits on the football defensive top 10 records for career tackles (298) and tackles in a single game (18 vs. Ithaca). Prior to his senior season with AU, Milgate was listed as a team captain. Following graduation, Milgate was drafted by AFC Rangers Mödling of the Austrian Football League, where he competed from 2021-23.  
 
Milgate graduated with his bachelor's degree in health fitness management from Alfred University before earning a master's degree in exercise science at SUNY Cortland in 2022. He has a CPR/AED/First aid certification through the American Red Cross and he holds the CSCS certification through the NSCA.
