AU Athletics Welcomes Jenn DeVeglio as Assistant Athletic Trainer

ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Athletics welcomes the appointment of Jenn DeVeglio following her hiring as a new Assistant Athletic Trainer. DeVeglio will work alongside the men's and women's rugby programs entering the 2024-25 season. 
 
Most recently, DeVeglio worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the University at Buffalo beginning in June of 2023. With the Bulls, DeVeglio worked alongside the cross country and track & field programs. She was responsible for comprehensive healthcare and facilitating post-surgical rehabilitation for the student-athletes.
 
"I am extremely excited to be joining the sports medicine staff here at Alfred University, covering men's and women's rugby," DeVeglio said. "I am looking forward to assisting our student-athletes on and off the pitch!"
 
Prior to the University at Buffalo, DeVeglio served as a brain lab graduate research assistant with Michigan State University. With the Spartans, DeVeglio conducted and inputted concussion research to better assist student-athletes.
 
DeVeglio graduated with her bachelor's degree in kinesiology at SUNY Brockport while competing with the women's rugby program. She later earned a master's degree in athletic training at Michigan State University.
 
"We are very excited about the addition of Jenn to our Sports Medicine staff," Head Athletic Director and Athletics Title IX Deputy Coordinator, Ronald Demchak said. "Her energetic and caring personality shined throughout the interview process. Jenn not only brings some Division 1 experience with her to Alfred, but also experience with the sport of rugby both professionally and personally. We are excited with the opportunity and challenge of covering ruby for the first time, and Jenn's passion and experience with the sport will help us continue to deliver top-notch care to our student-athletes."
