HOUGHTON, NY - The Alfred University Men's Tennis team lost to St. John Fisher University by a score of 6-3 on Saturday evening.
In doubles action, Walker Waldon (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) and Breece Erickson (Goshen, IN/Bethany Christian) won from No.2 Doubles by a score of 8-1.
"Much better today and we definitely learned a thing or two from our match last night." Head Coach Jordan Crouch said. " Congrats to Walker going 2-0 and Flemmer battling back to win a big match at 3rd singles."
In Singles play, Nick Flemmer (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) won his match from the #3 spot in a third tie break set by a score of 7-5. He lost the first set by a score of 6-2 and then battled back in the second set, winning 6-2, to force a tie break, in which he was able to pick up the win. Waldon also won his respective matchup from the #5 spot in two sets.
"Excited for practice this week to prepare for next weekend's competition!" Head Coach Jordan Crouch said.
Alfred University will next play at home against Oswego State on Tuesday, April 9th at 3:00 PM.
