HOUGHTON, NY – The Alfred University baseball team wrapped up their weekend with a 13-0 loss to Houghton University.

Benjamin Weimer (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) and Charlie Rapos (Warkworth, ON, Canada/ Campbellford District) each saw time on the mound for the Saxons, combining for nine strikeouts.

The Saxons got into scoring position early, with Cameron Brought (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) hitting a double towards right field. The other hit from Alfred University came in the following inning, as Reyes Torres III (Port Jervis, NY/Port Jervis) recorded a single. Houghton managed to score in each of the final three innings, forcing the game to be called at the end of the seventh inning.

Alfred University will next travel to face their final Empire 8 opponent in the regular season in St. John Fisher University for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM.
