AURORA, NY – The Alfred University baseball team began their week with a 35-0 loss to Wells College on Monday.
Connor Enebrad (Buckley, WA/Stadium) got the initial nod for the Saxons, remaining on the mound for 1.1 innings. Three different relievers entered the game for AU, with
Nate Siewert (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) tossing 1.2 scoreless innings.
The offense for the Saxons saw an early spark in the opening inning, with
Cameron Brought (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) recording a single.
Dylan Guthrie (Alfred, NY/Alfred-Almond) recorded his first hit of the afternoon in the second inning, sending a double out to right field. Guthrie hit another double later in the game, but the Saxons were unable to drive in any runners, while Wells capitalized on their scoring opportunities.
Alfred University will next return to Empire 8 competition against Houghton University on Friday at 6:00 PM.
