FREDONIA, NY -- In preparation for the NCAA Atlantic Regional race in a month, the Alfred University Men's Cross Country team found good things to take away from its race at Fredonia.

"It turned out to be a great day to check out the course," Head Coach Matt Phillips said. "Almost too hot for true distance running, but perfect for scouting the twists, turns, and hills that we will race come mid-November."

All five Saxons point-scorers would finish within a spread of 1:03.6. It was led by Finnegan Dean (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam Central) with a time of 29:13.7. Max Rasilla (Moraga, CA/Midland) followed suit with a 29:23.1, with Yuner Semas (Apollo, PA/Kiski Area) not far behind at 29:32.2. 

Breaking into the half-hour mark would be the remaining two point-scoring underclassmen, first with Aidan Bieron (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West) at 30:02.8. Finishing up the top five for Alfred University would be Jacob Taylor (Cohocton, NY/Avoca), wrapping up a 30:17.3.

The Saxons get a week off before its next competition at the 43rd Annual Mike Woods Geneseo Invitational on October 19th, starting at 10:45 am.
