ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Kiani Barnard-Pratt (Westford, MA/Westford Academy) was named the Empire 8 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Monday's award was the second of her season and sixth of her career, making her just one of 10 Saxons to do so since joining the Empire 8.
 
Barnard-Pratt continues her standout season as she is currently 12^th in the nation for save percentage with a 0.905. She had back-to-back shutout ties in Empire 8 action, keeping the Saxons' post-season sights set. She recorded five saves including a penalty kick save against Russell Sage College on Tuesday. Barnard-Pratt followed that with a nine-save shutout at Hartwick College on Saturday. She recorded her sixth and seventh shutouts of the season.
 
She was joined in the Empire 8 Weekly Honors listing by Dion Anderson (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) as the Football Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Carlos Gonzalez (Baja California, Mexico/Unifront) as the Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week.
