ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's soccer team got its first conference recognition of the season as Kiani Barnard-Pratt (Westford, MA/Westford Academy) was name a Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday in an official announcement from Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Barnard-Pratt set a new career-high in single game saves, after facing 26 shots from the Blue Devils of Fredonia, she stopped 16 of the 17 shots that were on goal. She turned around to open Empire 8 play by adding another eight saves against St. John Fisher University. Both games resulted in 1-1 ties.
 
Barnard-Pratt was joined in the Empire 8 spotlight by Macy Youngberg (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) as the Women's Tennis Player of the Week and Joe Copp (Minoa, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) as the Football Defensive Player of the Week.
